Volunteers Needed: BARS x City Harvest

Big Apple Rec Sports and City Harvest need your help! We’re looking for volunteers for three different events in the coming months to help give back to our community!

Description of Duties
Volunteers will be stationed at 3-4 market tables, each supplied with thousands of pounds of fresh produce that they will help distribute to eligible market-goers. Volunteers will help to stock stations with produce boxes and guide clients through the market while maintaining social distancing. Additional tasks may include helping set up market tables and tents, sorting and repacking food items, breaking down produce boxes, line management, and putting market tables and tents away at the close of market. The ability to safely lift up to 30 lbs. is helpful during the market, but do not hesitate to inform your fellow volunteers if you are unable to assist with lifting boxes of food items for any reason.
Note: All food is distributed free of charge.
