BARS: Pickleball Summer Offerings
Leagues and Registration Details
We have set our Summer Pickleball Schedule and are excited to share the full lineup! Our leagues will start in July and continue through August. We have increased the size of our social league to allow more players and will again offer our WTNB and Advanced leagues as well.
General League Info/Vocabulary
- Open vs. WTNB Leagues - Open leagues available to players of all genders. Our WTNB+ Leagues are available for our Women, Trans, Non-Binary (WTNB+) community
- Advanced: Our Advanced league, while still focusing on the social aspects and building community, is geared more towards those who know the game well and are looking to improve their game and play at a more competitive level
- If you have never played before, we recommend you check out our social league
- If you are a more advanced player, feel free to join either our social or our advanced leagues as we have advanced players in both
Financial Assistance
BARS is looking into ways of offering financial assistance and/or payment plans to any players who are in need. If you would like to take advantage, please send an email here as soon as possible but at least 2 days prior to your registration date.
Veteran Status
For summer season, we will be offering early registration to any player from our 2025 Spring Season who attained “veteran status” by attending at least 5 out of 8 weeks of play. If you acheived vet status, you will receive an email with a registration code. This code should not be shared with any other player. Doing so will result in cancellation of registration.
BIPOC Registration
In line with all of our BARS sports leagues, and in order to promote diversity and inclusion in our community, we will be offering an early registration opportunity to any player who idenitifies as Black, Indiginous, or persons of color.
The Leagues
Open Social League
Open to all players of any gender and skill level. This league is intended for anyone who would like to play pickleball including those who have never played before. While matches will be scored and season standings recorded, this league will stress the social aspect of the sport over competitiveness.
Dates: 8 weeks starting July 13th
Newbie Day/Open Play: July 6th
Time: Sundays 4pm-8pm
Location: John Jay College in Manhattan (59th st. and 10th Ave)
Cost: $140
Registration format: Register solo or with a buddy. Teams of 4 will be formed in a weighted fashion.
Format: Each team will have 1 hour of playtime per week spread out over a 2 hour block.
Open play time included every week.

WTNB, BIPOC: June 24th 8:00PM
Open: June 25th 6:00PM
WTNB+ Social League
Open to Women, Trans, and Non-Binary indentifying persons of all skill levels. While matches will be scored and season standings recorded, this league will stress the social aspect of the sport over competitiveness
Dates: 8 weeks starting July 13th

Time: Sundays 12pm-3pm
Location: John Jay College in Manhattan (59th st. and 10th Ave)
Cost: $145
Registration format: Register alone or with a buddy. Teams of 8 will be formed randomly but you and your buddy will be placed on the same team.
Format: Each PLAYER will have a full 1 hour of playtime per week. Open play time included every week

Advanced League
For players of all genders who know the game of pickleball well, including all rules and the strategy required to play at a more competitive level. If you have never played before or are not well versed in the rules, the advanced league may not be for you.
Dates: 9 weeks starting July 1st
Time: Tuesdays 8pm-11pm
Location: Gotham Pickleball LIC (First stop off Manhattan on the 7 train)
Cost: $150
Registration format: Register alone or with a buddy. Teams of 4 will be formed randomly but in a weighted fashion
Format: All teams will have 1.5 hours of playtime per week.

Veterans: June 18th, 6:00PM
WTNB, BIPOC: June 18th, 8:00PM
Open: June 19th, 6:00PM
Notes:
“Advanced league will take place on Tuesdays at Gotham Pickleball in LIC from July 1-Aug 26th.
Teams of 4 will be created in a skill weighted fashion. If you would like, you may list a buddy with whom you are guaranteed to be on the same team. That buddy must register independantly during any of the registration windows.
We have a limited number of spots so please don’t wait to register and make sure your buddy does the same.
If you do not get a spot in the veteran or BIPOC/WTNB windows, please check back at 8pm on Friday as additional spots will be released in our open registration window.
Once all spots are taken in the open registration window, our waitlist will become active. Please add your name Immediately!"
